Crude Perlite
Crude perlite is a crushed, unexpanded form of perlite. It has different characteristic compared to expanded perlite, but it has versatile application, nevertheless.
Usage Perlite
Maximizes the process of cleaning rust / corrosion (Sandblasting), metal foundry (Foundry) for the steel industry, and the production of silica sand.
Sandblasting
Perlite is an amorphous volcanic glass crushed to the most subtle level, remains angular, and dense. This character is very good for finishing, cleaning and giving a profile (roughness) on surfaces that are even better than sand, water or dry ice.
Slag Coagulant
When perlite is heated it expands 4 to 20 times its original volume. Any slag present on the molten metal will adhere to the expanded perlite and continue to float. The combined slag/perlite from the molten metal slag coagulant can then be removed from the molten metal in large pieces, resulting in clean molten metal for the casting process.
Silica Sources
Perlite is also a great source for Silica. With 70-75% silicon dioxide content, perlite can be processed to produce silica.
